What is the purpose of this qualification?

The Pearson BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Travel and Tourism is part of a larger suite of Travel and Tourism qualifications, which share the common purpose of helping people to become occupationally ready to take up employment in the travel and tourism sector at the appropriate level. BTEC Level 3 Certificate is broadly equivalent to one GCE AS Level. This is an interesting course which is directly related to the rapidly expanding Travel and Tourism industry. What does this qualification cover?

The Pearson BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Travel and Tourism is 30 credit qualification that consists of two mandatory units plus optional units that provide for a combined total of 30 credits (where at least 23 credits must be at Level 3 or above).

The 2 mandatory units are :

Unit 01: Investigating the Travel and Tourism Sector (credit10, GLH 60

Unit 02: The UK as a Destination (credit10, GLH 60)

The optional units will be chosen between yourself and your assessor.

This qualification is assessed through internal assessment by your tutor or assessor using a range of methods  (written assignments, practical tasks, portfolio of evidence, centre devised assessments etc).
